Biomonitoring 2.0 featured at Ecological Flow Requirements Workshop

Not one, but two, members of the Biomonitoring 2.0 team presented data at the Ecological Flow Requirements workshop held in Cambridge ON October 27, 2011. This workshop, co-hosted by the Grand River Conservation Authority, Trout Unlimited Canada, and WWF-Canada, brought together participants from federal and provincial government agencies, conservation authorities, NGOs, industry, and academia to discuss ecological considerations of river ecosystem management. Dr. Wendy Monk presented a talk on the integration of new ecological approaches into conventional hydrological studies. Dr. Baird’s talk (pictured left) addressed the current state of morphology-based biomonitoring as well as the future, genomics-based approach as represented by the Biomonitoring 2.0 project.
